One of the biggest storylines people are keeping an eye on is what the Chicago Bears do with quarterback Justin Fields. They stuck by him last year when they landed the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, trading that selection to the Carolina Panthers; will they do it again in 2024?
The Bears once again have the first pick, this time courtesy of Carolina. One of the pieces of the trade package was their 2024 first-round pick, which ended up being first overall after they went 2-15 in 2023.
Chicago now has a big choice to make again. Do they trade that selection for a massive haul and continue building their offense around Justin Fields as their quarterback? Or do they reset the quarterback clock, select someone such as Caleb Williams first overall and move on from the 2021 first-round pick?
Based on some information floating around social media, it would seem that a choice may have already been made. Last week, it was shared that the Pittsburgh Steelers were the overwhelming favorites to land Justin Fields, but a new team has seemingly entered the fray.
NFL News & Rumors: Justin Fields, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons Updates
As shared by DraftKings on X, something interesting has popped up from Justin Fields’ social media accounts. On Instagram, he has stopped following the Bears’ accounts and has begun following three players from the Atlanta Falcons; tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson.
Could this be a sign of things to come in the future? Are the Falcons going to address their need for a quarterback and make a trade for Justin Fields, which would also signal the Bears’ intention of using the first pick on a new signalcaller?
Everything will shake out in the coming days, but it is getting more and more clear that Justin Fields’ time in Chicago looks to be coming to an end. Several signs have pointed to a change being made recently and it seems like a matter of when, not if, the Ohio State product is on the move.
