Margin for Error in NFC North is Small

It’s not easy to compete in a tough division and the top of the NFC North certainly classifies as such. It would be difficult for the Chicago Bears to overcome a slow start to the 2020 season and that’s certainly a possibility with Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback.

The Green Bay Packers bounced back in a major way last season to finish 2019 with a 13-3 record and ultimately earn an appearance in the NFC Championship Game. They will remain a strong team in 2020 and will be the favorites to win the division.

Despite trading away Stefon Diggs and losing offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski to the Cleveland Browns, the Minnesota Vikings project as remaining a tough competitor this season as well. That only intensifies if Dalvin Cook chooses to not undergo a contract holdout.

It’s important to not count the Detroit Lions out either. They typically post a losing record but with Matthew Stafford now healthy, their offense will improve substantially. They even made some intriguing offseason acquisitions that should help translate on the field, too.
