Bills’ Defense is High-Level

It was previously mentioned that the New England Patriots’ have a strong defense, but the Buffalo Bills defense wasn’t discussed. There is an argument to be made that the Bills defensive unit is the strongest in the entire NFL.

It’s a complete unit that includes strength upfront in the defensive line, a youthful and quick linebacking core, and a shut down defensive secondary. A defensive unit needs a combination of youth, experience, and chemistry, and the Bills defense has all three. With young players within each aspect of the defense, quality veterans, and a similar unit to last season.

The Bills have been fortunate enough to have their core of defensive players that have developed together over the last few season, allowing them to understand each other’s tendencies. This is something that is quite rare in the new NFL, where players often change teams’ multiple times throughout their career.

The Bills’ defense was the team’s strongest unit last season, and the defense has become significantly stronger through the NFL draft and free agency, adding rookie defensive end A.J. Epenesa, and signing veterans such as Mario Addison, Quinton Jefferson, Vernon Butler, Josh Norman, and a few others.

An already strong defense has continued to develop and should be a tough defense to break, placing the team in a great position to become the kings of the AFC East.
