The Entire Roster is Still Loaded
It can be easy to forget after what amounted to an underwhelming season, but the reason we all fell in love with the Browns in the first place was because of how much talent there was on their roster. In 2020, most of that talent stayed with the team.
The defense struggled at times in 2019, but it’s still a roster with some very talented young players. Myles Garrett was on pace for a 16 sack season after 10 games until, well, ya know. Denzel Ward is one of the best young cornerbacks in the league, Oliver Vernon is a solid veteran pass rusher, and joining them will be Grant Delpit, the Browns second-round pick and one of the best safeties from college last year.
But of course, the offense is where most of the showstoppers are. Cleveland is loaded up on pass-catchers from wide receiver to tight end. He had a down season, but don’t forget, Odell Beckham Jr. is still really good at football (and still had a 1,000 receiving yards last year, one of just 29 players to do it). Returning to his side will be Jarvis Landry (another 1,000-yard receiver) and former Falcons tight end, Austin Hooper.
The Cleveland Browns will have a wealth of talent on both sides of the ball for 2020, both old and new. But after patching some holes and bringing in a coach better equipped to manage that talent, the NFL might finally see the Browns team that everyone has been waiting for.
