3. Tackle

Offensive tackle D.J. Humphries’ 2017 campaign was wrecked by injury, and if he was to succumb to similar misfortune, the Cardinals would be in trouble at left tackle. Backup John Wetzel allowed eight sacks and, per the Football Outsiders Almanac, blew 33 blocks in the pass protection last year.

The situation is not much better at right tackle.

Former first-round pick Andre Smith was signed in free agency but blew 16 pass blocks in eight starts for the Cincinnati Bengals last year. Backup Will Holden blew 12 in just five starts.

Pugh would be a better option were Smith to go down.
