Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is set to be a free agent this offseason and will unquestionably be one of the top offensive players available.

The Bengals are slated to have ample cap space this spring, but that does not necessarily mean they will definitely re-sign Higgins.

Cincinnati director of player personnel Duke Tobin spoke about Higgins this week and remained non-committal on whether or not the Bengals plan on bringing him back.

“I want Tee Higgins back,” Tobin said, via Geoff Hobson of the Bengals’ official team website. “Everyone on our team would like Tee Higgins back. There’s a pie and there are things we can do and can’t do because of it. We’ll see.”

Higgins had a disappointing season due to a variety of factors in 2023. He missed five games due to injury, and quarterback Joe Burrow was knocked out for the second half of the year.

During Higgins’ time on the field, he caught 42 passes for 656 yards and five touchdowns.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was selected by Cincinnati in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign, finishing with 67 catches for 908 yards and six scores. He showed some improvement the following year, hauling in 74 receptions for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns. Higgins then posted nearly identical numbers in 2022, snaring 74 balls for 1,029 yards while reaching the end zone seven times.

There was speculation earlier in the season that the Bengals could potentially trade Higgins by the Oct. 31 deadline, but the team ultimately opted to hold on to him.

We’ll see if Cincy tries to keep Tee Higgins again this March.

The Bengals went 8-9 and missed the playoffs this year.
