As we get closer to the NFL Trade Deadline, could the Cleveland Browns be a potential suitor for Tennessee Titans star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins?

With the NFL Trade Deadline approaching, teams in the NFL are trying to decide whether or not to be buyers or sellers. One of the teams that appears to be a buyer is the Browns. The Browns are playing pretty well this season with an elite defense and some notable wins already.

While the defense for the Browns has been great, their offense has struggled at times this season. At the quarterback position, Deshaun Watson hasn’t quite looked like the same player he was with the Houston Texans.

In a recent trade article, it was proposed that the Browns try to trade for DeAndre Hopkins and reunite him with Watson.

This idea makes a ton of sense for the Browns because of the success that Hopkins and Watson had together in Houston. With the Texans, Watson and Hopkins were arguably one of the best quarterback-receiver duos in the league at the time.

In the three full seasons they played together from 2018-2020, Hopkins totaled over 100 receptions and over 1,400 receiving yards in each of those seasons. Those are some big numbers from the position and would be a welcomed sight for this Browns’ offseason.

With the Tennessee Titans sitting at 2-4 and in last place in the AFC South, being sellers and entertaining moving a player like Hopkins makes sense for them. It appears as the window for the Titans has officially closed, with the Jacksonville Jaguars taking over control of the division. Moving Hopkins would allow them to get some draft compensation back and start the rebuild that feels like it’s coming.

For the Browns, reuniting Hopkins and Watson would hopefully spark some of the play that we saw from Watson in Houston. The Browns have invested a lot in Watson, and that investment hasn’t quite paid off yet. However, acquiring Hopkins might help Watson get back to his old self.
