Last but not least, the No. 1 dream trade target for the Cowboys is actually one that could become a reality. Not long ago, the New York Jets and Jamal Adams came to a stalemate in contract talks this offseason.

As a result, Adams could force his way out of New York by requesting a trade. Dating back to last season, there were talks of the Cowboys and Jets discussing a trade involving Adams. However, Adams — a Dallas native — was unable to return home and play for America’s Team.

With that being said, with the Jets not giving him an extension, the rumors surrounding the Cowboys and Adams have been rekindled. Similar to the other trade targets, Dallas would need to make some tweaks to their roster to make the addition of Adams work financially. Possibly signing Prescott to a multi-year extension — along with other moves — could make enough room for the versatile safety. There’s no doubt fans of the Cowboys would love to see Adams wear a star on his helmet in 2020.
