Denver Broncos: 3 Reasons They are Playoff Contenders

Their Schedule Doesn’t Get Any Harder

Denver’s remaining schedule doesn’t exactly look all that easy. The Broncos play the Chiefs again next week before facing the Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals over the next four weeks.

The schedule lightens again after that with games against the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns, although divisional contests against the Raiders and Chargers to end the year won’t be easy by any means.

With that said, the Broncos have likely already played the two toughest teams on their schedule in the Chiefs and Rams, so there’s reason for optimism in Denver. As I said earlier, the Broncos nearly beat both squads, which proves that they have what it takes to hang with the elite teams in the NFL.

Given that the AFC sent two 9-7 teams to the playoffs last season, there’s a chance the Broncos could qualify for the postseason with a 6-3 finish. And that’s definitely doable with the schedule they face moving forward.
