The Taysom Hill treatment
With the dual threat ability that Hurts brings to the quarterback position, it’s completely reasonable to envision Hurts possibly playing a Taysom Hill role for the Eagles offense.
Hurts ran for at least 800 yards and eight touchdowns in each year he started in college. It’s his calling card and it’s what sets him apart from all of the other quarterback prospects who entered this year’s draft.
Lining him up on the field with Wentz is an exciting idea, even though some may think a two quarterback offense will never work in the NFL. Hill didn’t even play in 25 percent of the Saints plays last year, so expecting Hurts to play a bunch is unlikely.
But, when the team enters the red zone or finds themselves in a short yardage situation, don’t be surprised to see Hurts trotting onto the field.
