Fantasy Football: Buy-Low, Sell-High trade candidates for Week 7

Sell-high candidates

Kenyan Drake (RB, Arizona Cardinals): One player that was causing people to rip their hair out to begin the season was Kenyan Drake. After being an early-round pick in drafts, Drake combined for only 51.6 fantasy points in the first five weeks.

At the same time, Chase Edmonds was beginning to get more touches for the Arizona Cardinals and was looking more explosive than Drake. But on Monday night versus the dismal defense of the Dallas Cowboys, Drake rushed for 164 yards and two scores en route to a 28.4-point performance in fantasy football.

Instead of holding onto Drake and hoping he can continue his success, everyone that has shares of him should be trying to rid of him before his price crashes back down to Earth.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB, Kansas City Chiefs): When Clyde Edwards-Helaire galloped for 138 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, some thought he was going to justify his status of being a first-round pick in fantasy football drafts. However, the rookie sputtered from Weeks 2-5, falling short of 100 yards or a single touchdown in four straight games.

His value in fantasy football is seemingly going to take another hit with the Kansas City Chiefs signing Le’Veon Bell. With Bell sitting out in Week 6 due to not having enough time to learn Kansas City’s offense, it was Edwards-Helaire’s last game without Bell garnering touches.

Following the first-year back’s 169-yard performance on 30 touches on Monday night versus the Buffalo Bills, in redraft leagues, it may be worth seeing what you can get for Edwards-Helaire. After all, Andy Reid and the Chiefs didn’t bring Bell on board for him to strictly be a complementary piece, right?

Brandin Cooks (WR, Houston Texans): Brandin Cooks was a wide receiver that made it on my sell-high list before Week 6 and he remains on this list ahead of Week 7. After posting 30.1 fantasy points in Week 6, Cooks proceeded to follow that up with 21.8 fantasy points in Week 7.

There’s a chance that Cooks can be a fantasy-relevant commodity for the Houston Texans and with Deshaun Watson as his quarterback. But the big-play wideout has accumulated just 75.7 fantasy points this season, with 51.9 of them coming in the past two weeks alone.

With Will Fuller cemented as the No. 1 option for Watson, it’s unrealistic to believe Cooks can produce 20+ points week-in and week-out moving forward.

Travis Fulgham (WR, Philadelphia Eagles): Similar to last season, the Philadelphia Eagles are shorthanded at wide receiver. And just like Greg Ward stepped up for the offense a season ago, Travis Fulgham appears to be doing the same in recent weeks.

Since becoming involved in the offense in Week 4, Fulgham has now notched 18 catches for 284 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles. In just the past two weeks, he’s scored 50.7 fantasy points and is building a rapport with Carson Wentz.

However, Fulgham’s value is poised to take a hit with DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, and Jalen Reagor set to rejoin the offense soon. As good as he’s been, now is the time to unload Fulgham for someone that can give you value for the rest of the season.

Darius Slayton (WR, New York Giants): Imagine being a fan of one of the New York football teams. Both offenses are putrid and could be making changes at quarterback ahead of the 2021 season.

While Daniel Jones remains under center for the New York Giants, Darius Slayton has notably become his favorite go-to option through the air. Jones has managed to throw just three touchdowns this season, with all three of them going to Slayton.

With that in mind though, Sterling Shepard is nearing a return, joining Golden Tate and Evan Engram as guys who could steal targets from Slayton. Lastly, with New York’s passing attack being lifeless for the majority of the season, I’d advocate trading Slayton while he stills hold any sort of value.
