2019 Production
It has been five years now since Cam Newton has been named MVP. In 2019, he was limited to just two games where he did not throw a touchdown and ended with one interception. In 2018, Newton played 14 games and threw for 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
This will be Newton’s first season away from the Carolina Panthers. He has thrown double-digit interceptions in every one of his professional seasons. Newton has thrown 30 touchdowns just one time throughout his career. Newton’s claim to fame has been his rushing ability.
He has scored 58 career rushing touchdowns and double-digits twice. Newton has averaged 5.1 yards per carry for his career. In 2017, Newton rushed for 754 yards but that took a huge step backward in 2018 with 488 yards.
Newton will be playing in 2020 with no film from New England and no production in 2019. This will be a new system for a different style quarterback. If you elide to draft Newton, it will strictly be off your belief in him playing in Belichick’s system.
