Fantasy Football: Should you draft Dak Prescott or Aaron Rodgers first?

Prescott or Rodgers?

Dak Prescott is entering his fifth season with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. Just this past season, Prescott put together the best year of his career. The former fourth-round pick would throw for a career-high 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

In terms of fantasy football, Prescott finished as the second highest-scoring quarterback with 337.7 fantasy points. The only quarterback to score more points than him was none other than the NFL’s MVP — Lamar Jackson.

Coming off of a fantastic season with the Cowboys, Prescott is poised to have more of the same in 2020. Even with a new head coach in Mike McCarthy. Besides being able to retain Amari Cooper, along with the emergence of Michael Gallup a season ago, Dallas added CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

On the other hand, the Green Bay Packers didn’t do much to aid Aaron Rodgers and the offense. Instead of taking a wide receiver to help Rodgers, the Packers traded up to select Jordan Love with the No. 26 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Despite the underwhelming supporting cast he had — outside of Davante Adams — in 2019, Rodgers finished as the ninth highest-scoring quarterback in fantasy football. Following a season where he scored 278.3 fantasy points, it’s hard to envision Rodgers having more success than Prescott.

Especially with the discrepancies in talent around them. Not to mention, Prescott adds more in the rushing department.

Therefore, if given the choice, Prescott should absolutely be taken before Rodgers in fantasy football drafts in the coming months. With that being said, both of them should be worth considering when looking for a quarterback in fantasy football.
