Why Stafford is worth a look

Prior to sustaining his season-ending injury in 2019, Stafford was playing at an extremely high level. The veteran signal-caller would throw for 2,499 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions in the eight starts he made.

In terms of fantasy football, Stafford would finish five of his eight games as a top-10 fantasy quarterback. Not to mention, his 8.6 adjusted yards per attempt was the second-best mark in the NFL.

Besides the 2019 season, Stafford hasn’t had many issues with injuries, starting in 136 consecutive games from 2011-2019. Provided that, there isn’t much injury concern for Stafford despite the back ailment he dealt with a season ago.

At the same time, Stafford has an array of weapons at his disposal in 2020. For the second consecutive season, the Lions will deploy a receiving trio of Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and Danny Amendola.

Meanwhile, T.J. Hockenson is looking to break out in his second year in the NFL after an injury-riddled rookie campaign. And the addition of D’Andre Swift is definitely a welcome sight for Stafford. Having a capable pass-catcher in Swift could take Detroit’s offense to the next level.

Lastly, the No. 1 reason why Stafford could be a massive steal is due to his average draft position. At the time this is being written, Stafford is being selected as the 14th quarterback in fantasy football for Best Ball leagues and is the 13th quarterback taken in ESPN leagues.

Given his previous success, the talent around him, and his average draft position, Stafford is projected to return a ton of value next season. In light of that, the gunslinging quarterback should be on your radar in fantasy football drafts in 2020.
