Giants: 4 bold predictions for the New York offense in 2020

The offensive line allows fewer than 40 sacks

Seeing that the Giants want Jones to be their long-term franchise quarterback, the team understands they have to keep him upright. Therefore, earlier this offseason, New York didn’t waste any time in addressing the offensive line in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Besides taking Andrew Thomas with the No. 4 pick in the first round, the Giants also selected Matt Peart and Shane Lemieux in hopes to improve in the trenches. In the past two seasons — since they signed Nate Solder to a lucrative contract — New York has surrendered a total of 90 sacks (47 in 2018, 43 in 2019).

But with the new additions on the offensive line, the Giants expect to have much more success in pass protection next season. Provided that, for the first time since 2017, New York’s offensive line will give up fewer than 40 sacks in 2020.
