Kevin King, Cornerback
Perhaps the biggest X-Factor for the Green Bay Packers this season will be second-year cornerback Kevin King. He was drafted with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and showed some flashes during his rookie season. Now, the Packers will be asking King to step up and become a playmaking corner with the ability to cover some of the biggest names in the NFL.
King ended the 2017 season with 28 tackles and five defended passes. He did so in just nine regular season games due to some nagging injury issues.
Mike Pettine is exactly what the doctor ordered for King. He will coach a physical style of defense, which will fit in with King’s body and skill-set. At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, he is capable of being physical with almost any opposing receiver that he faces.
If the Packers get what they hope to from King, they are going to see a major improvement in their defense. King has the skill-set to be a major defensive star and fans in Green Bay should get ready to see quite a few signs of that this season.
