Green Bay Packers: Studs and Duds from Preseason Week 3

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Stud: CB Josh Jackson

I have personally curated two of these “Studs and Duds” articles and Josh Jackson has appeared as a stud both times.

The Iowa product continues to do what he did in college. Just make plays. In three games, Jackson has two picks and two returned for touchdowns. The interception in the game against Oakland was actually called back due to a foul away from the play, however, the play was impressive nonetheless.

Jackson’s ability to make plays on the ball were elite when he entered the NFL Draft. Those ball skills have translated well to the NFL game. Jackson gives the Packers something they have desperately needed since the departure of Charles Woodson years ago. A playmaker. A difference maker.

Yes, it’s still the preseason. So, let’s not get too excited. But, if Jackson is able to keep up this level of play, he has the opportunity to be a very special player.

It is becoming increasingly difficult for Mike Pettine and his defensive staff to keep Jackson off the field. If this level of success continues, Jackson could easily be starting by mid-season.
