How the Chicago Bears’ offense must improve in 2020

Get Trubisky Comfortable Again

So last season we saw Mitchell Trubisky show his limitations as a passer. He failed to hit many open receivers and downfield passing was obsolete. Thus, why his touchdowns and passer rating fell from 2018.

Now, it’s possible that the sophomore slump swallowed Nagy. Possibly, Nagy rested on his laurels and didn’t push Trubisky creatively as a play-caller. In turn, he appeared to the viewing public as an incompetent quarterback. While Trubisky isn’t Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady, he is good enough to have a scheme for success.

Coach Nagy has to get Trubisky back right, and that means playing on his strengths. Trubisky may have to have the playbook shortened and use his legs a little more, but that’s okay. If this is his last chance then the Bears must make the best of it.
