4. David Bell, Purdue
What a year it was for the true freshman receiver from Purdue. Bell burst onto the scene with 86 catches for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns. He was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a First Team AP Freshman All-American.
Bell stepped up when Rondale Moore went down with a hamstring injury. Purdue finished 4-8 a season with a schedule full of high-scoring battles. This is mainly because their defense could not stop anyone they played. When the offense needed a play to stay in the game, they turned to Bell.
Despite only playing one season, Bell has turned into one of the top receivers in the country. He has some of the best hands in the country and can make difficult catches look routine. At 6-foot-3, Bell has great speed and is a deep ball threat. He can also go over the middle or be used in the screen game. The playbook is not limited with Bell on the field.
Purdue has a chance to have one of the most exciting receiving duos in the nation. Now, it all depends on how they decide to use their dynamic talent.
