1. Rashod Bateman, Minnesota
Bateman lands at the top of this list for many reasons. Minnesota had an incredible season in 2019 and Bateman was a huge reason why. He finished with 60 catches for 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is one of the hardest covers, not just in the Big Ten, but in the nation.
Bateman finished second in the conference in receiving yards and touchdowns. He was only behind fellow Golden Gopher Tyler Johnson. With Johnson now preparing to play on Sunday’s, Bateman will become that much more important. A receiver with his skillset, he’s up for the task.
Bateman is the complete package. He has strong hands to go along with all world speed and strong route running. It is hard to defend a receiver that can stop on a dime and change direction or blow by a defender on a go route. Bateman stands at 6-foot-2 and can play physically or use his instincts to make big plays.
Minnesota will look to ride the momentum of their season in 2019. With Bateman back on the outside, their offense should be just fine.
