Cam Newton, New England Patriots
Can Newton Will Score Two More Rushing Touchdowns
Newton was a pretty big change of pace from the New England Patriots led by Tom Brady. A team that usually threw the ball well and relied on running backs to pound the ground flipped everything upside-down in Foxborough. Newton was the leading rusher with 75 yards and added two rushing touchdowns.
Against the Seahawks, Newton is going to need to do anything he can to try and win. In what is likely to be a high scoring affair, the Patriots will have plenty of drives. The zone read is a great play to run in the red-zone and the Patriots are likely to keep pounding away with Cam until something changes. He should find the endzone multiple times in this one.
Newton Will Throw More Interceptions Than Passing Touchdowns
The passing game is where things get a little dicey for Newton. He did fine in the first game, but nothing was there that blew the Dolphins out of the water. Against a team that will require more offense to win, Newton will be tasked with throwing the ball more. Until Belichick show he can throw the ball without Tom Brady, I would expect Newton to force some passes resulting in an interception or two against a talented Seattle team.
