NFL: 5 QBs who could lose their starting job at some point in 2020

Dwayne Haskins, Washington NFL Team

It seems Washington is usually one of the quickest NFL teams to make changes at the quarterback position. Dwayne Haskins showed intriguing potential to close out the 2019 season and will need to build off that in order to establish job security.

There is real outlook for Haskins to be an impressive quarterback in the NFL. Unfortunately, he’s just not going to have much to work with in Washington’s offense aside from Terry McLaurin as the No. 1 receiver. It’s a disadvantaged situation for a quarterback.

Kyle Allen and Alex Smith will both be preparing to attempt to take over the starting role at some point this season. There is already a clear connection between Allen and head coach Ron Rivera from just a season ago with the Carolina Panthers.

Needless to say, this isn’t a prediction that Haskins will end up being benched, just that if he struggles to perform, there is a genuine chance it could happen. Washington just has a track record of not being patient with quarterbacks before trying something new.
