Las Vegas Raiders
It won’t be easy to succeed in the AFC West with the Kansas City Chiefs running the show. Each team made moves to get better this offseason and a case could be made for any of the non-Chiefs squads taking a step forward in 2020, including the Las Vegas Raiders.
There is more enough for Derek Carr to work with in the Raiders’ offense. It’s simply time for him step up. With Josh Jacobs leading the running game along with Darren Waller, Henry Ruggs III, and some solid complementary to throw to, Las Vegas has a solid supporting cast.
It’s undoubtedly not all up to the offense to raise its game in 2020 for the Raiders. The defense is coming off a truly troubling performance from last season but there’s hope for improvement. Las Vegas added plenty of talented veterans in free agency along with an intriguing prospect in Damon Arnette.
The ceiling for the Raiders appears to be much higher in 2020 than it was last season. It’s still far from a guarantee that they do turn the corner though. The new additions to the defense will need to make a substantial difference and Carr will need to take a step forward.
