NFL: 5 teams in the AFC best positioned for a bounce back season in 2020

The NFL is a league that features a thin margin for error. An increase of a few wins or losses can be the difference between being a disappointment, making a surprise playoff appearance, or landing a first round bye in the playoffs.

A strong case of a team turning things around in 2019 was the Buffalo Bills. They were coming off a 2018 campaign that featured a mere 6-10 record and managed to improve by four wins the following season. There will be similar instances in the AFC in 2020.

There are some teams that will take a step back after having a strong previous year. The Los Angeles Chargers were a prime example of this last season. They posted a 12-4 record in 2018 with Philip Rivers playing at an MVP caliber level, but followed it up with a 5-11 record.

It was a busy offseason for many teams in the NFL and while winning the offseason doesn’t always result in winning games in the regular season, some AFC teams have become more intriguing. Additionally, projected progress in player development will have a strong influence in some cases as well.

With that being said, let’s take a look at some teams that are primed for a bounce back season in 2020.
