Arizona Cardinals

If it wasn’t for the Arizona Cardinals playing in the toughest division in the NFL, the pathway to the playoffs would be much easier. Even despite that fact, they could end up achieving success sooner than many may expect during the upcoming season.

Making a splash by trading for DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans will provide the Cardinals’ offense with a needed No. 1 receiver. It will only help to have Kenyan Drake from the start of the season as well. Having dynamic talents of this kind will help the rest of the unit by setting the tone.

A key factor in the Cardinals’ struggles in 2019 was their inability to produce on defense. It’s quite possible this could continue to be an issue as they work to complete the rebuilding process. At the very least, Isaiah Simmons will help with covering tight ends and stopping the run in a sorely needed way.

It could end up being too early to count on the Cardinals to win lots of games when considering the circumstances. However, earlier results than expected in the player development department could help this ‘boom-or-bust’ team exceed expectations in 2020.
