D.K. Metcalf

It didn’t take long for the doubt surrounding D.K. Metcalf from when he was just a prospect to end up being wrong. The tide has certainly changed and he is now Nate Burleson’s top pick for breakout candidates among wide receivers in 2020.

Outside of Tyler Lockett and Metcalf, the Seahawks’ receiving corps is underwhelming. Even if Seattle were to sign a talent like Antonio Brown or Josh Gordon, they will need Metcalf to take another step forward as a player.

The production Metcalf provided the Seahawks as a rookie was impressive and he will be in a position to take it a step further next season. For reference, he racked up 58 receptions resulting in 900 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 regular-season appearances.

The heightened potential Metcalf has as a player was put on full display during the playoffs. In his two post-season performances, he hauled in 11 catches for 219 yards and one touchdown. It’s fascinating to think about how much he can progress next season.
