NFL Exec Gets Honest About Buffalo Bills Pick Keon Coleman

The Buffalo Bills selected Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman with the top pick of the second round of the NFL Draft, filling a major need in their offense.

A former NFL executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that he loves the pick and thinks that Coleman actually could have gone earlier.

“Keon Coleman was a first-round pick talent in my book,” the exec said. “He’s big, sure-handed, and has a ton more potential to unlock. There are some concerns about his acceleration and burst, but I think he’s a great fit in Buffalo to help ease the pain of losing Stefon Diggs.”

Coleman is coming off of a solid 2023 campaign in which he caught 50 passes 658 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The 20-year-old has great size at 6-foot-4 and will likely be a possession receiver on the NFL level, as he ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine.

Coleman began his collegiate career at Michigan State in 2021 but had a very minimal role during his rookie campaign. The following year, he hauled in 58 receptions for 798 yards and seven scores in what represented a breakout season for him.

He transferred to Florida State in 2023.

The Bills were in dire need of receiving help after losing Gabe Davis to free agency and then trading Diggs to the Houston Texans.

Prior to selecting Coleman, Buffalo had Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel as its top two receivers and not a whole lot else at the position.

We’ll see if Keon Coleman can bring some big help to the table for Buffalo in 2024.
