1. Keanu Neal
San Francisco has a lot of work to do within their secondary once the 2020 season is complete. They will have five key members of their secondary become free agents in 2021 including Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Jaquiski Tart.
There is a good chance that Sherman and Witherspoon return but Tart’s status is up in the air. Neal is an interesting name that could replace him.
Neal signed a four-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons in 2016. They decided to exercise his fifth-year option in 2019 that will pay Neal $6.4 million this upcoming season.
Neal quickly emerged as one of the top players at his position but he has had injury woes over the last two years. In 2018, Neal tore his ACL during a Week 1 game. In 2019, Neal played just three games before tearing his left Achilles tendon.
Neal will have to prove that he can stay healthy in 2020. Even if he does, the injury concerns from the past could knock his price down a bit and make him an affordable player with a tremendous upside.
