The AFC South has been one of the weaker divisions in the NFL as of late but the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans all appear primed for improvement in 2020. The Houston Texans likely are set to remain strong while the Jacksonville Jaguars…well, not so much.
There wasn’t much change on offense for the Titans during the offseason but for a team coming off an AFC Championship Game appearance, that wasn’t needed. Tennessee emphasized getting long-term deals done with Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill.
The Colts went out and signed Philip Rivers in free agency with the hope of providing their offense with far more big playmaking potential. Indianapolis added DeForest Buckner via trade and some intriguing talent in the 2020 NFL Draft including Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr.
It was an unfortunate offseason for the Texans due to the DeAndre Hopkins trade. They are coming off an AFC South division title but appear will have the toughest competition they’ve faced to repeat this achievement between the Colts and Titans.
The Jaguars didn’t end up doing much in the offseason. However, their inaction could end up eventually resulting in the addition of an intriguing quarterback prospect like Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields since they project as being one of the worst teams in the NFL this season.
With that being said, let’s take a look at how each QB in the AFC South will fare during the 2020 NFL season.
