Eagles – How Impactful Will the WRs Be?
The wide receiver position was a real concern for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2019 NFL season. Both DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery dealt with injuries and Nelson Agholor was needed to shoulder a heavier load and underwhelmed.
The passing game relied heavily on the tight end position as a result. In fact, Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert were the Eagles’ leading receivers. Next up wasn’t even a receiver as that spot was held by running back Miles Sanders.
The Eagles emphasized the wide receiver position early in the 2020 NFL Draft by selecting former TCU standout Jalen Reagor in the first-round. The speedy, big-play threat could require an adjustment period as all rookies do, so a major impact isn’t expected.
Both Jeffery and Jackson will be healthy to start the 2020 season and that certainly helps. However, there is concern regarding the level of impact Jeffery will be able to provide even when he is on the field.
