Washington – Is Haskins the Long-Term QB?

Heading into the 2020 NFL season, the Washington Football Team appears to have three quarterbacks on the roster that can vie for the starting job–Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, and now, Alex Smith.

When Haskins first took over at quarterback for Washington in 2019, it was rough but finished well. Regardless, he still is a quarterback who has a 2-5 record in starts, has as many touchdowns (7) as interceptions (7), and has a 58.6% completion rate.

Basically, Haskins still has to prove himself as an impactful NFL quarterback over a longer period than just a few games. With that comes an outlook for either Allen or Smith to compete for the role.

It’s unclear how much patience Washington will afford Haskins if he were to start off slowly. There’s a real chance it happens considering there isn’t a whole lot he has to work with aside from Terry McLaurin and Adrian Peterson.
