Atlanta Falcons
Despite having a high-level offense led by some truly dynamic talents, the Atlanta Falcons posted an underwhelming 2019 season. A critical factor in the lack of results they achieved was an inability to effectively make an impact in pass coverage.
For a long time, the Falcons’ top cornerback role was held by Desmond Trufant. Atlanta decided to move on from the veteran earlier in the offseason and with him now being a member of the Detroit Lions, there are some questions left to answer regarding this position.
The Falcons did use the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft to bring in former Celmson standout A.J. Terrell. He is expected to fill in the role that Trufant long held, but still needs to earn it in training camp.
Along with Terrell, there will be competition including Isaiah Oliver and Kendall Sheffield during training camp. The other starting corner role will need to be decided between Oliver and Sheffield, both of which make a real case for the role.
