Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys entered the offseason with a glaring need in the secondary. They addressed it with the additions of Trevon Diggs and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. The Cowboys were linked to Jamal Adams before he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. They have also been linked to Marcus Maye of the New York Jets, but there is another option.
Patrick Peterson has been thrown around in trade rumors for years now and it is time that something gets done. This is exactly the move that Jerry Jones needs to take their defense to the next level.
Peterson is an All-Pro player that solidified himself early in his career as a shutdown corner. Peterson is entering the final year of his five-year, $70 million contract. If the Cardinals do not want to extend their star, they could get a nice return for him in a trade.
The Cowboys could also use another edge rusher and tight end, but Peterson would add immediate star power to the offense. The offense in Dallas is elite and if their defense can reach that level, they could not only win the NFC East but be Super Bowl contenders, too.
