The season is only 5 weeks in and we have already seen some incredibly entertaining games. While many teams are playing at the high level we expected, there are plenty of surprises. The season is young and we are certainly going to see some movement across the league. However, we’ve come to the point where we can start to see a glimpse of how the playoff picture will look. The hunt for the Lombardi trophy is well underway and there are many teams who look like they have a shot at being champions.
While some teams are performing above expectation, others are playing heartbreakingly poor football. No team is mathematically out as of yet, but some teams are clearly starting to look towards the future. Losing is a part of the game, but some fanbases are growing impatient. We may see some coaching changes, and huge roster moves coming up in the near future. Coaches on the hot seat are getting desperate for wins.
While many of last years contenders are once again having great seasons, a few are struggling. There is still a lot of football left and it isn’t time to panic, however these teams need to start winning now. There are a lot of teams fighting for playoff contention. In such a tight playoff race, every week matters. When the season ends, it will be interesting to see which teams rise and which teams fall in the Power Rankings.
