2020 NFL Power Rankings: 1-8

8. Los Angeles Rams

The good, the Rams are 4-1. The bad, the wins all come against the struggling NFC East. It’s impossible to gauge how good this team can truly be when only playing teams from the worst division in football. Their lone loss comes at the hands of a solid Bills team however. In all honesty they should have won that game, but the ref blew a PI call. Possible karma from a call in their favor from the pervious week. Los Angeles has a tough matchup against the division rival 49ers looking to bounce back from a blowout loss. We’ll have a better idea of how good this team is next week.

7. Buffalo Bills

The Bills are on top of the AFC East at 4-1 right now. Josh Allen was playing at an MVP level until last weeks disappointing performance against the Titans. Buffalo has a lot to prove next week in another tough game against the Chiefs. The matchup is between two of the strongest arms in the league. It should make for very entertaining football.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have an incredible defense. The offense looks to be clicking under Ben Roethlisberger. However, it worries me they’ve yet to play any good teams. They are sitting at 4-0, but I have trouble trusting a teams that’s best win is a close game against the struggling Eagles. This week against division rival Cleveland will help ease my worries.

5. Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore is very much a Super Bowl contending team. The defense is stellar. However, the offense isn’t clicking like last year. Lamar Jackson is playing through injury right now and that’s something that needs to be monitored going forward. The lack of weapons at wide receiver could really hurt their chances in the long run. When this offense is clicking on all cylinders, however, the Ravens are unbeatable.

4. Tennessee Titans

The Titans are rolling with Ryan Tannehill under center. They took a bit of a hiatus because of Covid, but that didn’t seem to be a problem blowing out the previously undefeated Bills. Tennessee has a very well-rounded team, and there’s really no way to prepare for Derrick Henry. Tannehill is playing like one of the leagues most efficient QB’s. Tennessee should be right in the mix for title contention this year.

3. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are undefeated, but the defense worries me. What also worries me is that 4 of their 5 wins are against teams with losing records. 3 of those wins were one possession games. Russell Wilson has been phenomenal, but the Seahawks need to help Russ out a bit. If Wilson isn’t playing like the best player in football, the Seahawks will not win.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

Last weeks loss was very surprising. The Chiefs were my top team until there defense let up 40 points to the Raiders. However, I’m not panicking too much. This is the same team that completely shut down the Ravens offense. Their defense is still solid and the issues from last week will be fixed. Patrick Mahomes gives Kansas City a chance to beat anyone. They’re still the top dog in the AFC and should be favored to win every other game on their schedule.

1. Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers is playing at an MVP level. Aaron Jones is playing like the best back in football. Davante Adams is returning from injury. The Packers offense has been dominant, and the defense has been very good. Right now they look like they’re the best team in football. The Packers keep this level of play up, they’ll be bringing the Lombardi Trophy back home at the end of the season.
