In the last three years, over 6 million people in the US have decided to cut cable, with many opting for streaming services instead. This number is only going to get bigger. You probably fall into this group too (or you may not have bothered to get cable in the first place). While this is useful from a cost-cutting perspective, it isn’t great if you want to watch NFL games. After all, most of the NFL games are still broadcast on cable. Don’t worry, though. Not all hope is lost. Using the tips and tricks on this page, you can easily tune into NFL games. No cable needed.
We’ve got a few things to cover here. Firstly, we’ll talk about the services that stream games online in the US. There are a few different services. We’ll then talk about an international service that you can take advantage of if you want to watch NFL games at a discount. Although, it involves a lot of jumping through hoops, and technically you can’t subscribe to it in the US (we’ll tell you how to get around that, don’t worry!).
NFL Game Streaming Services in the US
Let’s start with the simple services. Ones that are a breeze to sign up for in the US. Most of these are cable replacement services. This means that you’ll have access to (roughly) the same channels that you would have had if you still had cable, just as an online streaming service instead. You may need to subscribe to multiple services to have full access to all games.
Amazon Prime Video
If you want access to Thursday Night Football or want up to date NFL scores on a Sunday so you can back your favorite picks, then you will need Amazon Prime. All games will be live streamed there. Yes. We know that Thursday Night Football isn’t always the best, but a game is a game, right? And if you have a bet on, then it pays to be able to watch it live so you can pick up on any major or concerning injury news to key players and you know not to back them the following week!
DirecTV Stream
This is the most popular cable replacement service. It should provide you with access to over 60 channels, plus a few additional features. For $75 a month (although, prices will go up), you can get access to all live NFL games except Thursday Night Football. That remains the sole domain of Amazon Prime.
So, if you want to tune into NFL games with ease, and see every single game, then Amazon Prime and DirecTV Stream will be the perfect combo.
NFL+
If you don’t feel like subscribing to tons and tons of channels, then NFL+ could be a great choice. With NFL+, you’ll only have access to NFL games, but you’ll be able to watch all in- market games, plus Prime Time games on Sundays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
The major downside to NFL+ is that you’ll only be able to use it on a mobile device, or a Smart TV. You’ll need to download an app for it. You can’t (at the time of writing), use a computer.
International NFL Game Stream Available From the US
The final option is similar to NFL+, but it has been designed for international markets. This means that you will be able to see live streams of all NFL games, not just the ones that the NFL has decided to live stream through NFL+. So, you’ll have more choice. It only costs a small amount more each month too. The problem is that you’ll need to jump through a few hoops to use it.
The service is called DAZN (this name may vary depending on the market), and the NFL section is called NFL Game Pass.
In order to access this service (to both subscribe and watch), you’ll need to trick DAZN into believing you are from one of the countries that it operates in. For this, you’ll need to use a VPN (we recommend NordVPN). When you have a VPN running, you can fool these services into believing you are in a whole other country.
In our opinion, this is the best route to go down if you want to tune into every NFL game stream with ease. Sure, it takes a little bit of extra effort to do, but it really isn’t too difficult.
- Buy a VPN, e.g. NordVPN
- Switch the VPN to a country where DAZN is available, e.g. Sweden
- Head to the DAZN NFL Game Pass website
- Subscribe
- Whenever you want to watch NFL games in the future, make sure that your VPN is
turned on
There you have it! If you want to watch NFL games with ease, it isn’t difficult. In fact, it is just as easy as if you had cable, it just doesn’t have the extortionate cost involved!
