The Green Bay Packers have fallen on some tough times in the last month. They entered Week 9 on a four-game losing streak, winless since they defeated the New Orleans Saints in an epic come-from-behind win in Week 3.

But, they were presented with a golden opportunity in Week 9 to get back into the win column. They were hosting the Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field without their starting quarterback, Matthew Stafford. He was sidelined because of a thumb injury, which resulted in Brett Rypien getting the start.

The Packers were able to take full advantage, as they won the game 20-3. The defense was stellar, allowing Rypien to complete only 13-of-28 passes for 130 yards with one interception and one sack. On the ground, they allowed only 68 yards on 28 carries for their most dominant performance of the season.

Offensively, the team had a great showing as well. While they failed to score more than 20 points for the sixth consecutive game, they did compile a season-high 391 total yards on offense.

Jordan Love has a solid game, completing 20-of-26 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown. Running back Aaron Jones handled a full complement of touches as well for the first time since he was injured in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears.

The victory was the third of the season for the Packers and head coach Matt LaFleur reached a milestone as well; it was the 50th victory of his head coaching career. According to Aaron Nagler of Cheesehead TV, he is the second-fastest head coach to 50 wins in franchise history, behind only the great Vince Lombardi.

That is quite an achievement for LaFleur, who is in his fifth season as the Packers head coach. This has been the toughest one to date given all of the changes that occurred in the offseason, the biggest of which being Love taking over as starting quarterback.

But, if the team can continue playing at the level in which they did against the Rams, the Packers could start piling up some victories in the second half of the season.
