Quarterbacks

The quarterback room in 2020 will be far better than it was in 2019. It will not be DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle on the depth chart anymore. Aaron Rodgers is coming off another strong season where he finished with 4,002 yards and 26 touchdowns. His four interceptions marked the ninth straight year that he finished in single-digits.

Rodgers is still one of the league’s best quarterbacks. He has played in and started all 16 games in five of the last six years. If Rodgers goes down with an injury, Jordan Love will be ready. The Packers traded up to draft the Utah State product in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. This was a confusing move but he is undoubtedly better than Kizer and Boyle.

The Packers were looking to the future with the selection of Love. They obviously saw something they liked and assumed sitting behind Rodgers would be good for the young quarterback. This is not uncommon for the Packers. Rodgers did sit behind Brett Favre for three years before taking over the starting role in 2008.

The quarterback position is one that Green Bay does not need to worry about in 2020. Rodgers is still playing at a high-level. If he is healthy for 16 games, Rodgers will turn in another 4,000 yard season with few interceptions. Green Bay is a double-digit win team with No. 12 under center.
