Offensive Line

Rodgers has had great success because of his individual ability, but we cannot forget about the strength of the offensive line he is behind. The Packers have had one of the top lines in football for many years now. Green Bay suffered a big loss when nine year veteran Bryan Bulaga agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.

To replace Bulaga, the Packers added Rick Wagner, who spent the last three years in Detroit, to a two-year, $11 million deal. Wagner will take over at right tackle. On the other side, the Packers have one of the top left tackles in the league in David Bakhtiari. The four-time All-Pro was first among left tackles in ESPN’s pass block win rate metric. Center Corey Linsley also ranked first at his position. Green Bay will enter the season with two of the top lineman at their position.

At guard, Elgton Jenkins will be on the left and Billy Turner will be on the right, unless Lane Taylor wins the job in camp. Jenkins played in all 16 games, making 14 starts, as a rookie in 2019. The left side of the line is extremely strong. The right side is a bit more inconsistent with the loss of Bulaga, but Wagner is capable of doing enough to replace the longtime Packer.

The offensive line in Green Bay has always given Rodgers time to throw the ball. LaFleur likes to run the ball which he will be able to do behind this group. Pro Football Focus recently ranked the Packers’ offensive line fourth in the NFL. They will enter 2020 as the top group on the team and one of the best in football.
