Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says that quarterback Kenny Pickett has a bone bruise in his knee, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Tomlin added that Pickett would practice some on Wednesday and that the team would evaluate whether or not he can play against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Pickett was injured during the fourth quarter of the Steelers’ blowout loss to the Houston Texans this past weekend. He went 15-for-23 with 114 yards and an interception before exiting.

On the season overall, Pickett has thrown for 803 yards, four touchdowns and four picks while completing 60.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 76.3.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh, was selected by the Steelers with the 20th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Pickett played in 13 games and made 12 starts during his rookie campaign, finishing with 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 63 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 76.7. He also rushed for 237 yards and three scores and averaged 4.3 yards per carry.

The Oakhurst, N.J. native enjoyed a monster final season with his collegiate Pittsburgh team, throwing for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven picks.

Considering the hype surrounding Kenny Pickett going into the 2022 draft, he has certainly been a disappointment in the early stages of his professional career.

The Steelers have gotten off to a 2-2 start this season but rank 29th in the NFL in offense and 30th in defense, suggesting that their .500 record may be a bit misleading.

Pittsburgh is aiming to avoid its first losing season since 2003.

The Steelers currently sit in second place in the AFC North and can vault themselves into a first-place tie with a win over the Ravens in Week 5.
