Cam Newton was one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL not too long ago. He was an MVP in 2015 and nearly led the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl. Now, he is sitting in free agency waiting for a new opportunity after being released by the Panthers earlier this offseason.

Very few teams have shown much interest in Newton this offseason. However, the Los Angeles Rams could be a team to keep an eye on.

Most of the time, we talk about the New England Patriots as the ideal landing spot for Newton. With Tom Brady no longer in town, they make sense. But, Bill Belichick and company seem very content to continue forward with Jarrett Stidham as their starting quarterback.

Sean McVay and the Rams could be exactly what the doctor ordered for Newton. Even though they would likely only sign him to a one-year deal, that might be all Newton needs to resurrect his NFL career.

Let’s take a look at three reasons why the Rams might be the best potential landing spot for Cam Newton this offseason.
