In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens made a game-changing move by selecting Lamar Jackson as the 32nd overall pick.
At that time, he was the fifth quarterback to be chosen in the draft, with Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, and Josh Rosen all preceding him.
Fast forward to today, and Lamar Jackson stands on the verge of achieving greatness as a two-time MVP and having a Super Bowl appearance to his name.
Recently, a video showcasing Jackson’s remarkable highlights from his college days at Louisville resurfaced on social media. Accompanying this video was a caption that humorously questioned why NFL teams passed on him with the sentiment, “Teams really saw this and said ‘nah we cool.'”
Jackson responded to this post with a simple laughing emoji, clearly indicating that he found it amusing.
Shortly after the Ravens drafted him in 2018, Jackson confidently stated, “They’re gonna get a Super Bowl out of me, believe that.” Now, with just two more victories separating him from fulfilling that promise to Baltimore, his words seem prophetic.
In the Divisional Round, Lamar Jackson delivered a stellar performance, amassing 152 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and contributing four total touchdowns in a decisive victory over the Texans.
If he continues to perform at this level in the AFC Championship Game, it’s possible that his extraordinary skills could cause quite a stir on the internet.
At present, the Ravens are considered the betting favorites against the Chiefs, and much of this confidence is rooted in Lamar Jackson’s dual-threat abilities, which have the potential to change the course of the game.
