Antonio Gibson finishes as the team’s second-leading wide receiver
Besides McLaurin, the Redskins seemingly don’t have a definitive No. 2 wide receiver in the offense. Their depth chart behind McLaurin includes Steven Sims, Kelvin Harmon, Trey Quinn, and Antonio Gandy-Golden. Some people believe Sims could end up evolving into the team’s second-best wide receiver.
However, with there being so much uncertainty surrounding the team’s wide receiver position, the Redskins’ second-leading receiver could technically be a running back. With the No. 66 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Washington selected Antonio Gibson out of Memphis. And while he’s listed as a running back on the depth chart, Gibson could very well see most of his time at wide receiver in Washington.
In his final season in college, Gibson carried the ball 33 times for 369 yards and four touchdowns. On the other hand, he would contribute 38 receptions for a whopping 735 yards and eight touchdowns through the air. Given his ability to create as a receiving threat, the Redskins could be enticed to utilize him immediately in the team’s aerial attack.
