3. Add Veteran Receiver

JuJu Smith-Schuster struggled in his first season as the No. 1 receiver in Pittsburgh. After a 111 catch season in 2018, Smith-Schuster finished with just 42 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns last season. The Steelers took care of a need when they signed Eric Ebron and they could do it again with a veteran receiver.

Pittsburgh is young in their receiving room. Smith-Schuster is just 23-years old. Diontae Johnson showed flashes during his rookie season and James Washington led the team in receiving last season.

Entering the season, these are their top three receivers. Washington and Johnson are both 24-years old. There is talent in the receiving room for the Steelers but adding a veteran would take some pressure off the young weapons.

Smith-Schuster must return to being the receiver that he was in 2018. This is an offense that will rely on his ability. Of course, having Roethlisberger back will improve his numbers immediately. This is an option that would help the team immensely and it would not cost them much.
