1. Sign Leonard Fournette
Leonard Fournette was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was linked to the Steelers in trade talks but his release makes it easier for Pittsburgh. Fournette has been slightly underrated throughout his career and it is partly because of the team he was on.
As a rookie, Fournette totaled 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns. He played just use eight games in year two but bounced back nicely in 2019. He put up his best rushing season with 1,152 yards. Fournette has average four yards per carry throughout his career.
The Steelers struggled in the run game in 2019. They finished 29th in the league with 90.4 yards per contest. Conner missed some time with an injury but was not productive during his time on the field.
Conner is still a question mark heading into the season. Fournette is more of a proven commodity. The two together would be a strong duo. The addition of Fournette would sure up the backfield and take pressure off Conner. As of now, Conner just has Benny Snell Jr. and Jaylen Samuels behind him. Fournette would be a welcomed addition in Pittsburgh.
