Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian presides over one of the most intriguing quarterback dynamics in college football.

With Quinn Ewers, an exceptional starter, and Arch Manning, a highly touted prospect reminiscent of football legend Vince Young, Sarkisian’s quarterback room is brimming with talent and potential.

Amidst speculation about their rapport, Sarkisian shed light on Ewers and Manning’s relationship, describing it as “very healthy” during an interview on College Sports Radio on Sirius XM.

He emphasized their collaborative spirit, noting how they motivate each other to strive for excellence. It’s a perfect scenario for the Texas Longhorns.

“I don’t take that for granted. You know, there’s a lot of other schools out there with one guy and what happens if something happens to him? So again, we’re in a good spot and those guys are working hard, doing a great job and I think their rapport together, you know, the way they work together and push each other and make each other better. The relationship they have is very healthy.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming season opener against Colorado State on August 31, Sarkisian hinted that the quarterback depth chart will likely remain unchanged from last season. Ewers is set to retain his starting position, with Manning slated for occasional playing time and backup duties.

However, as witnessed in previous seasons, fan enthusiasm may sway towards Manning if Ewers faces challenges on the field.

Fortunately, Sarkisian and Ewers navigated such scenarios adeptly in the past, ensuring a robust and competitive quarterback landscape for the Texas Longhorns.
