Chiefs: Secondary Play
The Kansas City Chiefs managed to overcome any weaknesses they had last season en route to a Super Bowl victory. They worked to patch up their roster to maximize their ability to repeat as champions in 2020, but they do still have some questions regarding the secondary.
Earlier in the offseason, the Chiefs lost Kendall Fuller to the Washington Redskins and Morris Claiborne remains a free agent and it appears unlikely they will bring him back. These concerns were mitigated after Beshaud Breeland was re-signed after uncertainty about his potential return.
There was optimism surrounding the cornerback position after they re-signed Beshaud Breeland. With his recent arrest, there are some potential questions that emerge as a result as he was already facing a four-game suspension before the arrest for violation of the substance-abuse policy.
As for backup plans, the Chiefs don’t appear to be overly prepared to handle any potential absence from Breeland since they waited until the fourth round to select a cornerback.
