Make the Playoffs
This may seem fairly obvious for a team that is becoming a playoff regular, but every team in the league has to take a step back in the offseason and temper their expectations. Let’s not forget: this is a team that loses nearly half of their starters from a season ago.
Most of the top talent is still there, but the Vikings will have to watch out for an up-and-coming Chicago Bears team and a Detroit Lions squad that has nothing to lose. This division is no joke, and the Vikings need to start taking it more seriously.
A big knock on starting quarterback Kirk Cousins is his inability to win big games. This will quietly be a make-or-break year for the 32-year old as more weight will fall on his shoulders to lead his team to success. He’ll be a huge part of winning the important division games that I talked about earlier, and a big deciding factor as to whether or not this team will make the playoffs.
There are a lot of questions going into 2020, but this team should at least be in position to make a playoff push. Before getting too far ahead of themselves, Mike Zimmer’s squad should set their sights on a Wild Card appearance.
