4. Washington Features Two 1,000 Yard Players

With all of the negative last season, there were two bright spots for Washington. Rookie Terry McLaurin finished his first season with 58 catches for 919 yards and seven touchdowns. Adrian Peterson led the team in rushing with 898 yards. Both of these players will go for 1,000 yards in 2020.

Peterson is ageless. He has spent the last two years in the nation’s capitol and has been extremely productive. In 2018, Peterson carried the ball 251 times for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns. He eclipsed 200 caries once again last season and scored five touchdowns. With Derrius Guice off the roster, Peterson will once again be the team’s featured back.

McLaurin was a third round pick of Washington in 2019. He burst onto the scene in his first game going for seven catches for 125 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. He looked like a legitimate No. 1 receiver and could turn into that moving forward.

Peterson was the team’s last 1,000 yard rusher and the team has not had a receiver reach that mark since Pierre Garcon did so in 2016. In 2020, the offense could ride their two stars to get both of them to the mark.
