3. Thaddeus Moss Emerges as No. 1 Tight End
The tight end position was a non-factor for the Washington Football Team in 2019. Jeremy Sprinkle was first on the depth chart and finished with 26 catches for 241 yards. In 2020, Sprinkle will be in the mix along with Logan Thomas and Hale Hentges. But it could be Thaddeus Moss that steps up.
Moss was signed as an undrafted free agent after being apart of the undefeated National Championship team at LSU. He finished with 47 catches for 570 yards and four touchdowns. He showed soft hands and good feet when running routes. Washington has not had an impact playmaker at tight end since Jordan Reed was last healthy in 2016.
Sprinkle is not a pass catching tight end. Washington signed Thomas to a two-year deal back in March so he will be one of the three tight ends that the team will ultimately keep. Hentges will also be in the mix but he is an unknown who had just eight catches for 103 yards in 2019.
If Dwayne Haskins develops a connection with Moss, he could quickly turn into the No. 1 tight end.
